Choi Kwang-Do is designed to help you to be the best
you can be, young or old. You are
never too old to start!
All classes start with the same basic stretching
exercises. You will only be stretching to your personal limit. There is no
enforced or partner stretching. However, if you stretch regularly, your
flexibility will improve within the limits of your own capability.
Choi Kwang-Do students and instructors/assistant
instructors are very helpful, friendly and always willing to help out their
fellow students.
All the movements have been medically researched and
refined to remove unnecessary stresses to joints and muscles. Sequential
movement results in maximum force delivered.
Choi Kwang-Do is non-competitive and non-contact.
You
don’t have to beat anyone or be judged in relation to others to achieve your
next belt level. The only person you compete with is yourself, as you
continually improve and strive to achieve more.
Regular exercise is beneficial. The aerobic and anaerobic exercises in Choi Kwang-Do will significantly increase heart and lung fitness as well as conditioning the body. The work out achieved when striking against focus mitts and kicking shields produces double results, since as well as conditioning the body it conditions the mind to apply full power to the techniques.
Speed and sequential movement help a smaller person
to reduce any advantage a larger opponent may have.
Choi Kwang-Do training can be used as cross training
for other sports and martial arts.
Choi Kwang-Do can help to develop self-awareness,
self-control and self-discipline.
Membership of one
Choi Kwang-Do School allows access to all Choi Kwang-Do Schools worldwide.
Choi Kwang-Do students are encouraged “to always do their best and never give up”. As with all things in life, the more you put into your training, the greater the benefits you will derive.
