Children’s Christmas Party The Christmas Party was a great success! A fun filled afternoon was had by all, children, parents, instructors and guests. We had balloon modelling, juggling, music, games and great entertainment from Clowns Services Unlimited who kept everyone smiling and laughing throughout the afternoon with their colourful and cheeky antics. After all the juice, sandwiches, crisps, cakes and sweets had been consumed, we had another surprise – a visit from Santa Claus! who had taken time off from his busy schedule in the run up to Christmas to hand out some early Christmas presents. Thank you Santa, thank you Clowns Services Unlimited and finally, a very special thank you to all those parents, friends and instructors who gave so generously of their time and talents to make the day such a huge success. Gradings
Congratulations to all those who graded at the Alex Collie Centre, Bridge of Don on Sunday 20^th November, and in particular to those Westhill students who tested for and successfully achieved their first and second degree black belts, namely : Jennifer Brownhill and John Ritchie - EE Dan Robyn Ritchie, Doug Shearer, Tim Wynn and Jennifer Hugman – Il Dan Pil Sung!

Press Article on Scottish Seminar 2005
The visit of Grandmaster Choi to Aberdeen sparked great interest in the local community with the publication of an article in the local “Press & Journal” newspaper on Monday 4^th October! In the article, Mr. Brian Jay, Chief Instructor, Dyce CKD and the organiser of the Scottish Seminar, highlighted the benefits of Choi Kwang-Do and its applicability to people of all ages and ability levels.
The article features two of our Westhill junior students, Catriona and David Kidd, who are pictured receiving instruction from Master Eddy Baron, 5^th degree black belt from London, whilst Grandmaster Choi demonstrates a twisting kick to the camera.	A real gem for the family album!		The picture we feature here was taken by proud dad Mr. David Kidd senior, himself a 1^st degree black belt and a student of Holburn CKD in Aberdeen.

Scottish Seminar 2005
Thank you to Grandmaster Choi for another uplifting and highly informative seminar!
		Full of fascinating insights into the concepts and philosophy of Choi Kwang-Do, your amazing ability coupled with such incredible humility are an inspiration to us all.
Congratulations also to Master Pereira on achieving 7^th Dan! Special mention also to Master Eddy Baron and Mr. Nigel Brophy for making the journey and also to all those attending from Shetland, Caithness and Fife CKD, as well as all the clubs locally.

Well done to our adult demo team for another great performance at the Westhill gala on Saturday 4^th June. We look forward to the next one! - Rehearsals will be starting soon!

Many congratulations to Mr. Graeme Laws and Mr. Kevin Mackie who successfully graded to Sam Dan (3^rd degree black belt ) in front of Mr. Nigel Brophy, during his visit to Aberdeen in May.
Many thanks also to Mr. Brophy for taking the time to visit, acting as Examiner and for giving some excellent classes. Your energy, enthusiasm, knowledge and commitment are an inspiration to us all. - Pil Sung Sir!

Black Belt Grading - 17^th April 2005

Five students from Westhill successfully graded to Il Dan on 17 April, 2005 at the Jesmond Centre, Bridge of Don.

A massive Pil Sung! to Westhill Assistant Instructor Mrs. Lynda Eddie, who earlier this year travelled to Mount Kilimanjaro and in the process raised £1690 for Make a Wish Foundation and The Sick Children’s Trust! Lynda is pictured here with some of her fellow climbers at Kibo Hut, 4700 metres above sea level, on the last stop before the attempt at the summit. 10^th Anniversary Fun Day - 26^th February 2005
	Our Fun Day on 26^th February was a great success. We had a big turn out of students, parents, grandparents, family members and friends. Everyone joined in the fun and had a great time. Throughout the afternoon we had a series of demonstrations by the Wee Chois, Juniors and Adults, which covered all aspects of the Choi syllabus, and judging by the comments received, these were thoroughly enjoyed by all the spectators.

We also had balloon games, wacky races, face painting, lucky dips, home baking and toy stalls, raffles, “splat the rat”, the “CKD skill test” and other novelty items, not to mention lots of disappearing pizza and cake!
	All in all a great day, which ended with a cheque for £830 being presented to the representatives of the Children’s Hospice for Scotland (CHAS).
